Today was exceptionally nice., with the chill drizzle and the quiet sky. A perfect day to be out. I have been blogging for a year now, eventhough I have a blog titled in Tamil, I first started blogging here in Armenia. And one amongst the very first Armenian blogs I came across was Onnik’s blog and today I had the oppurtunity to meet him in person.
Onnik, by profession is a Journalist and Photographer mostly freelance and presently working for Hetq . Over a cup of coke, I found out how he loves his profession, his liking for blogs, his son, his English connection and that he is a chain smoker. Seven years in Yerevan, has defintely made some change in his habits and that was confirmed when the waiter brought over a cup of Thick black Royal Armenian coffee.
A classical man, portrays most of his photography in black & white. Recently nomiated for the National Geographic’s All Road’s Award . A lover of Jazz I suppose and likes the local rock band ‘Bambir’ which, I havent heard yet.
Corruption, blogs, Armenian Youth, India, and local Armenian Psychology were some of the many topics we spoke about. I told him about the mishap I had in my first year here and before we parted, we shook hands as told me “Atleast, Armenia is not boring”

[...] As part of a new project on Indians in Armenia I recently made contact with Nanyaar?, an Indian student and blogger currently living in Yerevan. Last week, when we met for the second time, Nanyaar asked me if I was interested in cricket, but even though I was born in England and only left for Armenia in 1998, my gut response was to say no. Admittedly, I did enjoy playing this typically British game when I was at school, but watching it on TV seems pretty much akin to watching paint dry, in my opinion. [...]
